How do other 1st years feel about WFH?

WFH with omicron has been really helpful in my opinion / making this job bearable. I finally feel like I have some separation from the job and can take advantage of all the job's inefficiencies to have some personal time (i.e. go for a walk, etc). Understand that you miss out on some of the in person experiences; but frankly, I found that people in the classes above ours rarely talked to us / taught us anything in person.

What are your thoughts? My class is split in half about WFH opinions.

1st year analyst at MM here and yeah we've been WFH for a while now.

Personally really enjoying it as you definitely get that separation. Honestly nice to roll out of bed 5 mins before the first meeting while being in comfortable clothing. I'd say the biggest downside is experience that office culture of shooting the crap, but I think the pros of WFH outweighs that.

Would be curious to hear additional thoughts.

Going to copy and paste what I said on a previous thread on this the other day...

I prefer WFH a 100% even though I know there are things apparently that I should learn or whatever in an office (most of it being bs cooperate politics or bullshit soft skills that I don’t care for considering I don’t plan to be a wage slave for long). I value flexibility a lot more in eating whenever, laundry whenever, walking around, blasting music, watching mindless TV and podcasts when doing tedious tasks, taking a shit in the comfort of my own bathroom, etc. If anything being chained to a desk in stiff clothes would make me more likely to leave.

Curious to see how others feel. But I imagine in general analysts (this generation in particular) are not going to just sit there and take a lot of shit regardless, with all the other opportunities out there. Gone are the days when a corporate career is the key to a house in the 'burbs and a family. If anything, it's far less likely than ever to even get you to there at a reasonable point.

People in the labor market are waking up in general and "young professional" corporate careers will be no different. The tide is turning.
