How Does CapIQ Get Purchase Price Data
Hey everyone, title says the bulk of the question. I'm working on a saas product that will do a lot of things with deal data but one of the things I'm looking to incorporate is deal purchase price. I realize some deal purchase prices are known publicly but does anyone have any idea how CapIQ and Pitchbook get purchase prices for smaller, lesser known deals? Are they self reported by customers or are they reported on some obscure SEC filing I'm not aware of? Any input would be huge. Thanks!
