How early to lateral banks?
I am currently at a middle market bank working in investment banking and just started after graduating college. Although it has only been a month or so into working (after passing my series exams), I am interested in lateraling to a bank with a larger platform and more opportunities later down the road.
I saw a listing come up for a group that I'm interested in a bulge bracket, and I would like to apply, but it seems like they're looking for a first year lateral who can start soon. I would like to make a smooth transition from my current job to another lateral bank, but how do I go about that without burning bridges? And when is too soon for a case like this? I haven't had any issues culturally or work quality at my current job thus far.
