I didn't get a return this summer, so I'm recruiting for 2027 FT. How far along is the general recruiting cycle? Seems like some places have already finished, while others are still happening but nearing the end. Does the street usually end by September, or is this basically the end?

September isn't the end, it's honestly closer to the middle for FT. Most seats do go to return offers, so what you're seeing closed is that inventory - but the seats that didn't fill through returns start opening now and run through October and November, and MM and boutiques and regional offices go later than that, sometimes into spring. The thing to watch isn't the calendar, it's that everything posts scattered - check firm career pages a couple times a week and apply the day something opens. And get your "why no return" story tight now, because every FT interviewer will ask. The version that works is short and non-defensive and pivots fast to what you want next. One bad answer there costs you more than a late application.

Same bruh. I had a decent amount of interviews but I just couldn't convert past R2/SPD to an offer. I can't believe I came this far just to end up with nothing...
