How Good Are School's Career Office's Resume Review

Hey guys, so I'd like someone professional to review my resume and I attend a top business school that sends kids to MS, GS, BX every now and then. And I was wondering, how good are the school's career services? Do they usually suck or are they pretty spot on with their resume reviews?

Thanks.

As long as the career services is specifically for the business school, they can be a good starting point. Career Services that cover every school in the university are not that great because they give the same general advice and don't know how things work on the ground with IB/S&T recruiting. Post your resume on this site if you want more feedback.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

That is a very generic question - and I'm going to give you a very generic answer...... It depends on your school, the service they use and you should be reaching out to people who have used the service and obtain their opinion....

3 of those schools are on one tier, 1 is on another...

Anyway, in my experience it varies greatly. The head of our (mba) career services is an assassin, I respect her greatly. Her minions however, leave something to be desired.

From a resume perspective, my school puts that in the hands of second years who got internships in your desired industry, which I think is a wise approach. If your school doesn't do that, I would approach someone independently.

Regardless, there is always this site, M&I, etc for touching up banking resumes.

Pony up a couple hundo and get your resume redone by people in the industry you want to work in. With that said I am sure Wharton career services will know how to do a banking resume, but a lot of places do not. How about you go to the career office, have them do it and then post it on here for critiquing. Free and you get the best of both worlds.
