Took a few days off last week (was actually unplugged / not emailing etc) and have technically "worked" every day other than that, but has been very slow and actual work is like 2 hours a day. More about being available and coverage if something comes up. Nearly everyone in my group is or has taken vacation days over the past two weeks so "work" is mostly just being available to cover if something comes up.

Every day except Christmas but I’m in a sweatier group and I’m working with a terrible client right now. They asked for a call on the 23rd at like 4pm and then asked for a big board presentation be ready the week after Christmas. They do this routinely. Basically expect Friday night requests at 7pm for Monday morning (or even more fun Saturday morning, I have had to pull multiple overnighters over the weekend to meet random weekend deadlines for Friday night requests). Same thing with Thanksgiving requested stuff on Tuesday they wanted to see that weekend. The cherry on top is that they’re just not demanding but also just terrible people. The CFO loves to call me and curse me out on a weekly basis. I would literally trade a limb to get off this staffing. When I first got staffed on it one of their senior FP&A people called me and was like “well I hope you aren’t the 3rd analyst we make quit from your group”. Anyways rant over as I’m feeling bitter right now. Most of the time I am able to take off most of the time between the 23rd and the 1st with just sporadic work and responses to emails

Sorry to hear it. Im in a similar situation with a terrible client, maybe not as bad. Funny thing is vp told me to take the weekend off which is literally an official holiday. I really don’t know what to say.

What type of MM? It is so weird people in my bank act as if working these days is totally normal

I went home at midnight today. Fucking sucks. Hope you get some rest over the weekend
