How many people are usually competing per spot in an interview process for MM?
Just did superday for Analyst IB for an MM bank. They're only seeking to hire one analyst to the group as its a regional office and a smaller team. Curious if anyone knows how many people they would typically interview for a Super Day if there is only one spot available.
Superdays would bring in 12-15 people for 3-4 spots
I used to work in a regional office for a middle-of-the-road MM bank. When we ran a process for 2 FT analyst spots, we had ~40 candidates who reached the phone screen round, and more applicants that did not make the screen. We narrowed it down to ~20 for first round interviews and then it progressed from there.
Any idea how many candidates you were looking at by the final round when deciding those 2 offers?
Yeah the other comments are similar to ours. Usually 2-3 people per spot. Usually comes down to culture fit assuming they interviewed well.
Probably like 6-9 people in the superday round
In my experience for experienced or lateral hires looking to fill 1 or 2 positions its been 4-6 candidates that make it to the superday.
