Cheat code here but projecting to make about $300k net profit from my businesses this year + some dividends and spending $1200 per month for a fully-serviced 3-bedroom in Bogota, Colombia. Previously living in Bangkok with a 2-bedroom fully serviced for about $900 per month.

For U.S. rents I paid:

$3500 for 1-bedroom in NYC in FiDi

$4000 for 1-bedroom (but about 25% bigger than the NYC apartment) in Santa Monica

$2000 for 2-bedroom in one of the nicer areas of Houston, TX

Analyst in the 150k - 200k total comp range - paid $900 a month plus utilities for a 2 bed 2 bath with a roommate as a first yr. Rent stayed flat for a second yr but lost the signing special since we re-signed and now it’s $1000 a month plus utilities.

In a decent area (west of downtown) and our folks are in the Houston area so didn’t feel the need to splurge in the area.

Would be cool to get into a townhouse / single family in the next 5-10 yrs in the Heights or something. Pretty far out but just a thought

AN1, TC 150-180k, paying 2500 for 2 bed + flex (3 people splitting 7500)

Will be in Chicago making ~260k all in after the analyst stint, wondering if I want to continue paying 2500 per month, how much more does that get me in an apartment?
