how often do analysts actually skip a year to become associate?
My bank does a 3-year program and an analyst 2 is making a big fuss about how she's going to quit if they don't do a direct promotion to associate. The MDs have said they don't do that, but I'm getting the vibe that they just might since they like her a lot
Is it highly unlikely they actually do this? the rest of our class will 100% not be happy about it since we've been fed the idea that the structure is ironclad unless you come in as a lateral. I'd definitely want to leave if that was the case since it just feels unfair
can't answer the question but curious to hear if she is the top-bucket analyst or just the most well-liked analyst?
hard to say, probably a good analyst but also just mostly seems like she gets along with the MDs well
At my firm, it’s a hard rule. No matter how good you are.
Leave? In this market? MDs will call her bluff lol
