I know that ECM/DCM/sometimes LevFin get a discount compared to traditional coverage groups, but do they still retain brand power outside of traditional PE exits? How do they look to the typical HF/VC/Tech/Industry professional?

If you want to go to a HF and you tell them you have no experience modelling, they're gonna laugh at you. Elsewhere is probably fine.
Always second fiddle to IB. But exits are pretty sick and much better overall WLB
What kind of exits have you seen?
Exits to middle office at other firms that require similar independence / conflicts / compliance type work.
E.g., big 4, big law, other banks, asset managers, etc.

If you're into debt, capital solutions exits can help you go to some neat places like credit hedge funds or credit oriented asset mgrs (think like an Apollo or Ares or HPS)
