How should I set up my models?

Hi All,

I am working on practicing my modeling prior to my Summer Analyst stint, and I had a few quick questions. As I am building models from scratch, I was wondering if someone could answer this: How exactly should we be setting up the line items in our models? In BIWS for example, they often consolidate and simplify line items, but in actual models, should they be the same items as shown on the 10-K? Also, how should I know which items I should have specific drivers for on the IS, BS, and CFS?

Really would appreciate any guidance, thanks in advance.
