I hear you but it's Manhattan....you're like 15 minutes from all the social life you'd ever want no matter where you are on the island.
Why are you living in midtown
Midtown is the worst and most soulless place in Manhattan, move downtown and you’ll be fine
Why tf would anyone want to live near midtown? Getting down to Battery Park pretty much opens the whole west side up for you to live, from Tribeca to UWS since it's all within 30 minutes by subway (or walk), and all of lower Manhattan
What’s the problem with living in midtown? I’m interning from out of state this summer and planned on finding housing in midtown so I’m curious.
Easily 70-80% of first years live in Murray Hill.
Midtown is long on office buildings and vagrants and short on culture. Lower Manhattan has a lot of smaller, upscale neighborhoods like Tribeca, SoHo, Nolita, Greenwich, Gramercy etc and some of these have a good social scene (Greenwich). Upper Manhattan is more residential but has the museums and Central Park and feels safer than midtown. Most analysts do live in Murray Hill as its like a mini college town within manhattan but most analysts do not end up staying there more than a year or two
