how to followup with networks as a freshman

So I was able to network with a lot of people from BB banks and was able to have calls and introduce them. Since I am a freshman from a non-target, how can I follow up with them and what to talk to them about, so I could get a referral for an internship and stuff

usually i don't ask directly for a referral, I ask to be more connected with people on the team, and if they like you they will probably talk internally keep you in mind for when recruiting does begin and offer first rounds

Personally, I ask to be connected with others through email and only if the call went well. It can get awkward if you put them on the spot during a call.

In terms of following up, you could talk to them about a recent deal the bank/they worked on or give them a quick update on your life and just ask if they'd have a couple minutes to briefly catch up.
