How to gauge whether you’re getting a return offer or not

Hey all,

Wanted to ask if anyone had any tips on how to gauge if you’ll be getting a FT offer. I had a good mid-summer review and get along pretty well with my team. I have a presentation during my last week as well, not sure how much that will factor in the decision making process. Appreciate your help

Great midsummer review, great feedback on final presentation -> didn't get offer (BB/EB), entire class was kinda shocked.

At the end of the day the market sucks and if the firm is downsizing there's not much you can do, given how much office politics goes into these decisions

No, usually high return offer rate - this year later is significantly lower bc of industry outlook due to covid

Sorry to hear that. Was that this summer, or in the past?

If in the past, how did you rebound and what did you do to combat the potential stigma? If it's this year, do you have a game plan? Good luck.

They gave the “mixed reviews” and bar set higher than previous years as reasons to the ones who got cut. We all got the same answer as to why and as far as I know all received positive feedback...aka downsizing, crushing and unusual I would definitely agree, but akin to 08-09 so not entirely atypical for the industry
