How to leapfrog from Analyst 2 to Associate 1

Hi, I’m a second year analyst in a BB. Recently, I’ve been feeling that I’m outperforming my analyst class and also my associates who work in the same projects as me. I naturally have a sharper business acumen than most people (to the point where my MD would straight out agree with my input and sometimes reverse on certain direction in a pitch/project, often times I feel like the team would be more productive if my associate and I had switch role) and have a decent connect (able to get intel from my buyside and strategic operator connection that actually aids origination)

I think my MD semi-consciously recognizes this

As we’re nearing promotion period, I was thinking if people could share past experiences / advice on how to navigate leapfrogging, especially pertaining to my situation
