How to make good looking slides

Hi,

I recently finished my IB internship. The one thing I struggled with was to make beautiful looking slides. I could also notice the difference between certain people I worked with.

I find it hard to be creative and put out a nice looking slide. Is this something that can be learned or does it just come naturally.

Any tips on how you become good at making slides and how to practice this?

I struggled heavily with creating aesthetic slides when I first started working. The best thing to do is to put the necessary stuff you need onto the slide, then on another screen have a template of a nicely formatted slide that you'd like to emulate / copy, then send it to india team / graphic team prior to logging out for the day and have them reformat stuff while doing the manual labor that you're supposed to do, so they can pull an all nighter and have it in your inbox fresh in the morning, then you can take credit for the work

Haha did hear this before but at the last two IB’s I did an internship at did not have this service. Would like to learn how to format slides my self.

Any advise besides this?

A good way to start is to borrow slides that you like. Oh those slides are nice? I will save them in a “master template” file/folder so I can just copy-paste it into the slides I am working on and then making the relevant edits from there.

I have been in my corp dev role for ~8 months and I have a “master template” of ~30 slides. Some of these are because I want a specific graphic, some of these are because I like the slide layout.

Remember. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. If something looks good than take it for yourself for the future

Those are great, but for some reason they looked very differently from the slides I had to make.
I guess this was due to the fact that my bank did a lot of marketing. It invoked many qualitative slides, for which I could not easily use a existing template.
