How to talk about deal experience when deal still live

In an interview, is it ok to talk about a live deal that is still ongoing but on anonymous basis? Obviously without going into detail about undisclosed metrics and process, and rather focus more generally on why this type of deal makes sense in the context of current market trends, the broad universe of potential investors, my role in the process etc.

If relevant, I left my old firm a couple of months back and am recruiting in a completely different geography, so I wouldn't expect my interviewers to be able to easily guess the situation I'm talking about. It's a ~$1.5-2.0bn deal, so not a company people would know outside of that particular industry.

What about a deal that did not go through and has 0 chance of happening in the future? (with listed entities..)

I'm asking because those were deals in my target vertical.

If it's a common industry with many companies, I'd think it will be fine to name the industry. For industries that are more niche (i.e. few big/active players), I'd avoid naming them.
