How tough is it to lateral from a FT non-banking job to a MM shop?
I have 2 years work experience doing investor relations for healthcare companies in a major city. What are the chances of me networking my way into a MM shop (PJC/Jefferies/OpCo/Cowen/Leerink) in an IB or ECM role? I've been told those firms are more open to hiring outside college recruiting cycles - is that the case?
Or am I basically looking at associate-level positions after an MBA/more years of work experience? I am willing to relocate.
