How vital do you think having perfect teeth is to landing a prestigious entry level job?

I’m wondering what your thoughts are on this. I’m 1/4 Irish and 3/4 German. I come from a wealthy family, but they wouldn’t even pay for braces. My teeth are a bit crooked (almost done invisalign in two months), two small chips due to playing spots, and kind of small due to my genes (parents also skimped in whole milk, quality fish, etc...). I really don’t want to be held down due to this minor (perceived) flaw. I’ve always been the brightest and would rather do technology sales than be held down for life in a place like NYC.

I can either spend 25-30k on my teeth or put it towards a downpayment on a house and build ~130k in equity. I already have family I could pay to collect that rent and an established network of trade professionals in the area. On the other hand, I could spend 25-30k to do a whole set of Zirconia veneers on my upper teeth (and could still make rent in NYC).

Looking to hear your thoughts on this.

P.S. Almost finished Invisalign.

Thank you. I’ve decided to spend the money on my teeth. I might just do Porcelain Veneers (20-24k) depending if the Zirconia based ones are a bad fit for my mouth. Having imperfect teeth has already screwed me terribly. Plus, I think perfect teeth is a huge asset if I go into technology sales.

Nobody cares. Focus on other things.

If you want to improve your teeth for health/look reasons - sure, good idea. But don't do it because of recruiting, it doesn't matter.

Always invest in yourself especially when you have the money to do it . Hygiene, skin care, physical health , mental health and suits are important when you're applying for a competitive job.

I was in the same position, but decided it was important and put on a mouth caps. These are not braces, but they helped me. In general, I think that now in order to occupy some important and visible position in the company, it is not necessary to comply with a huge number of social norms and standards, since now is just the time to abandon any "norms". If you do not have a serious need to put braces, but you want to correct the bite, then I can also advise you to make special mouth guards for your teeth. Or, if this also does not suit you, then just take care of your teeth as always, this will be enough. I advise you to read this Dental Waterpik review and perhaps introduce something similar into your care

I guess it depends on the type of job that you want to have, but I would say that having a perfect smile isn't mandatory.
