I didn't know about the contract! What did I get myself into!?
Hello,
Now that I have your attention, I can ask you a question lol. Sorry for the weird title though. I am currently in college and recruiting for summery analyst positions. I have been getting a lot of interest from big banks and I wanted to skip ahead and ask about the 2 year analyst contract.
What obligations does it have? What happens if you quit or get fired? Sorry for the newbie questions, appreciate all your answers (except the trolls).
Bear signal for banks, this is.
Contracts at banks vary significantly, and it is often a good idea to ask about the terms of these contracts in official 1st round and superday interviews. This is an important consideration as terms can include; clawbacks on bonus and salary for sleeping more than 4 hours in a single night, and full repayment of wages for early termination.
Make sure to direct your questions to Vp + level guys if possible, as they will be more informed on the current contract rules.
lol
Generally no obligations other than paying back your signing bonus. Plus, you risk burning bridges.
