IB recruiting MIT Masters admit

as the title suggests, I’m a senior at a semitarget who is making a career change and got admitted to MIT’s Master of Finance program. if I were to pursue an IBD internship, should I start now at my undergrad institution?

I had a 170Q and 169V (although I think verbal doesn’t carry much weight) on the GRE. I have experience in S&T and pretty quantitative research. I also go to a top 20 school.

Why IBD now? You said you had experience in S&T and this is apparently a very quantitative program.

i do have an offer from a big tech company, but the work seems pretty boring.

Lmao aligning slides in powerpoint is just as boring.. you will not be doing any real strategic analysis as an IB analyst at 99% of shops.

Not trying to sway you away at all but if you want interesting work stay with tech/consulting or shoot higher (2sig, citadel, etc.). If I was you I'd see if you could swing the big tech guys to turn your offer into an internship and then recruit at the places I just mentioned for arguably the best comp/interesting work combo out there. Play your cards right and you can make 300-400k out of MIT

An MIT grad student with s&t, big tech, and pedigree cs+math undergrad is like the kind of new hire those guys salivate about. It's possible.
