In the latest big push diversity and equality firms are introducing far more generous maternity leave plans for women but I think it’s unfair for men to not also have fraternity leave. Why do women get to have a few months in community with their loved ones and we can’t do the same with our brothers?

In all seriousness, it feels like it should be common sense that new mothers AND fathers should be getting enough time off if/when they have a kid.
I emailed a md at morgan stanley and he was on leave for his kids, got the vacation immediate response right after - so yes they do give it out to guys
Wild guess here but it may be due to a woman having to sacrifice a bit more in the months leading up to the birth than a man does.
