If you're a tech founder and you exit, how do you stay in the game?

If you have a successful exit and you're like mid-late 30s, are the only ways to stay "in the game" by creating another start-up or getting in VC? So, it's literally go through the whole creating a tech company process again or become an investor, effectively.
