Income Statement Question

Hey there,

I was looking at some EU companies annual reports and wondering why does the line "Profit from investments accounted for under the equity method" (Basically the interest in associates) is reported above EBIT/Op income. It is an income stream after-tax, and not everything inside that is meant to be operational.

Is it always the case?

Cheers,
