Incoming BB SA Networking with Current Bankers

Hi Monkeys,

Incoming BB IBD SA trying to network with current bankers at my bank. I know I should party hard now and only contact them near summer, but one former intern said several school alumni at my bank were happy to have early chat. So I may contact them and try to learn more about specific group culture, individual experience, etc.

I’d be grateful if anyone could help with a few questions I have.

  1. Would non-interviewer bankers have my contact details too? Would HR share my info with them this early?

  2. What would HR share with interviewers and line managers after interns have signed offers, if anything? Would HR send things like additional info about interns, updated contact details, who’s accepted offer, etc., or just keep them in the dark until it’s near the summer?

  3. I listed my school email as my secondary email while filling in online application back then (not primary for some reasons), so do HR and interviewers (and non-interviewer bankers if they do have my info this early) even have or look at secondary email address? Just don’t wanna look like some strange kids cold emailing.

Thank you in advance.

I’m from a non-target, so the alumni cohort is actually quite small. I wanna reach out early because I wish to know some groups better (we haven’t decided group placement yet) and establish some relationship. And one former intern from my college said those alumni were quite happy to have early chat, well at least that was the case last year. So just wanna reach out.
