Incoming FT at UBS.. Need Advice

I’m returning fulltime to UBS this summer but have been trying to rerecruit to improve my chances for oncycle recruiting. Is it still worth seeking fulltime offers? I’m not seeing much traction with networking since last fall and I’m wondering if trying to lateral in a year would be better

I’d appreciate any advice or experiences you all have  with fulltime recruiting. Thanks

Depends on group. Getting a lower UMM offer is fairly common at some groups and there are cases of top UMM/MF offers. Just be a really strong analyst and try to learn as much as you can, that's all you can do in the short-run. Usually have to wait 1 year until you can lateral regardless; would be recruiting for PE in your first year and then if you cannot get anything, would try to lateral.

Thanks for the insight. For reference, I’m going back to a group often regarded here as one of the weakest in terms of PE placement.. so definitely not Levfin/GIG. I guess Im worried that I’d be getting into on-cycle with a big disadvantage since I’d probably be passed over by most MF/UMMs

Just look at this thread for a very comprenhsive list of exits for this past year: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/investment-banking/ubs-exits-0

LevFin: Ares PC, KLS, Oaktree PC, L Catterton PC

Industrials: Veritas, GA, 26 North (Josh Harris's firm)

Tech: PSG, HIG, FP, Serent, and Siris (first 3 are NYC Tech and later 2 are SF)

HC: Arsenal, Odyssey

M&A: Fisher Lynch Capital, Infinedi, Clarion Capital Partners, F3 Partners, and THL

FIG: Neuberger Berman and Stone Point

Consumer: Platnium Equity

FSG: BX PC

Should answer most of your questions; up to you to evaluate group quality. Think pretty clear Industrials is the best coverage group  with 3 very good UMM exits and LevFin is the best for PC.

Sad a group head has to be on here keeping track of exits to go see, we exit! When most of those interviews were premerger/ pre Barclays hires

Can guarantee 2026 will be worse than 2025

2027 exits will be worst ever for UBS or CS
