When you start fulltime as an Analyst at HLHZ in M&A, are you a generalist or are you assigned an industry?
Also, some on this forum have reported that HLHZ has raised first year Analyst salaries to $70K. Is this true? Is HLHZ's base salary the same across all locations? Or would Chicago/Minneapolis pay less than NYC?

The guy at HZHL I spoke to said that you start as a generalist and you will eventually get selected by a group.
Is that true across all offices? Even the smaller ones? I can't imagine that the smaller offices would have such defined groups.
Any info on salary?
