Insight on HL Board & Special Committee Advisory / Transaction Opinions
Just curious if anyone has any insights on this group. I know they primarily work on Fairness Opinions but it seems very similar to the corporate advisory group at other Investment Banks like William Blair. Curious if this group is considered to be IB.

Not IB, although not a bad way to break into IB eventually.
Pay was at a slight discount pre-IB raises. FVA, the broader group, never raised the base so pay is pretty below market.
Hours are better than IB, but you’ll have late nights for sure.
Any idea on FVA bonuses? As well as if they differ between PV and TO groups?
Barely any info out there on bonuses for FVA tbh
Bonus pool is close to the same, the strong group subsidize the ones with less work.
Not sure of the bonus difference between PV and TO but can’t imagine it’s notable, which is annoying given they are very different businesses
Thanks for the info man - honestly, that bonus is a lot higher than I expected then. Was thinking it would be nowhere near IB.

TO isn’t IB their bonuses are lower than IB
A top bucket AN1 in FVA last year prob got 25-35K bonus last year.
Idk about HL corporate finance but last year that would’ve been >50K prob
