I'm an incoming sa at an eb in sf. I was wondering how the culture is and what intern events generally exist? Is it mostly just happy hours or are there other things too? Is it generally with just junior bankers or also MDs?

Totally office-dependent, and also really dependent on your summer staffer who arranges these things. The offices with larger intern classes tend to do more. Can expect several HHs, D/MD are usually strongly encouraged to attend these. A lot of offices also do some sort of MD lunch, whether one on one or a group version of "lunch and learn" "ask me anything" with more senior folk. NYC interns will have more frequent HR-arranged events like mini golf or bowling to meet the other interns, which you probably won't have, but your class will spend plenty of time together.
