Interning summer 2018 - summer 2019??

Hey everyone,

I am a current sophomore at a target interning this summer in IB at a BB. However, it’s a bank and a group that isn’t ideal for the career path that I currently have in mind. Clearly, it’s too early to tell if I might actually like the work I will be doing though but given how the summer 2019 recruiting cycle is going I can’t wait until August to decide whether I will stay at this bank or lateral.

As a result I’m torn on how to proceed...would it be considered an unprofessional/“put your name on a list” move to start including my resume in all of the resume drops and events ongoing? I don’t want the risk of getting pigeonholed into my position for another summer if I end up not liking the group/bank and there’s always the chance I don’t get an offer. How would I do this? Just leave out anything related to my upcoming internship from my apps? Not mention it in interviews, etc? Thanks.
