Intro to Finance Books?

Can anyone recommend a solid book on the fundamentals of fiance (securities, banking, markets, funds, credit, etc.)?  I'm looking for something that covers all the bases. To be clear, I'm not interested in personal finance books, like investing and money management. I want something almost akin to an 'Intro to Finance' college text book, but that is well regarded and circulated in the real world.

I agree Rosenbaum and Pearl is a great pick—especially for understanding valuation and the deal side of finance. If you're looking to round things out with broader coverage, you might also check out Mishkin’s Economics of Money, Banking, and Financial Markets for a solid foundation in how the financial system works, and Fabozzi’s Handbook of Fixed Income Securities if you want depth on credit and bond markets. Together, they give you a well-rounded intro across both corporate finance and markets.

Do you have any suggestions for prerequisites the rosenbaum and pearl book?

I’ve got it and it seems great, but Im finding a bit dense to be honest. First year here - so I don’t know much fundamentally yet.

Thanks!

The Practitioner's Guide to Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance - pricey but a good book imo. About 740 pages and goes beyond technicals. Good primer for IB
