Investment Banking fee split to Sales & Trading
Question to all my fellow masters of the universe:
We all know that primaries are salary/bonus, but for the regionals/dealers that have a 100% commission sales/traders, and salary/bonus investment bankers..here we go:
Investment Bankers have a transaction that is closed by a sales person. What is the split?
Historically, I've seen 50/50% then once it's allocated to the desk it's paid out according to the sales person's pay grid/cut. I've also seen 60/40.
Is there a norm?
Also, @ what percent cut is one side getting hosed?
