Investment Banking Inter Productivity

Hi everyone,

I’m completing an IB internship right now and just finished my first week on the job. For starters I really suck at using excel and PowerPoint, really need to learn the shortcuts and get faster at it. I would also like to get better at technicals and financial modelling.

Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can train myself to get better at these aspects. I hate it when I have to ask my analyst for help, I want to be an asset vs slowing everyone down.

1) Setup quick access toolbar on Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Will save you hours in the future, guaranteed.

2) Start practicing now on navigating the computer without using your mouse. Most of the shortcuts on windows are directly appliances to Excel

3) If you can, try to teach yourself VBA. Saves a lot of time on repeating tasks
