Investment Banking overcrowded ?

I just have a simple question. Do you think Investment Banking, and Finance in general is getting overcrowded as a field to work ? If you can, please give arguments.

Thank you.

The applicant pool is overcrowded. The actual career field is not.

Every desirable career without large skill barriers has an overcrowded applicant pool. There are more want to be bankers/consultants/technology product managers/marketers/publishing assistants/etc than there are jobs. The talent then trickles down to less desirable jobs. That's the way the job market should work and why OPs question is dumb. If everyone who wanted to be a banker got to be a banker, it would stop being a desirable job.
