Investments To Make Before Starting FT IB
Hi All,
I am going to be starting FT at a BB this upcoming summer. I know that there are many regulations on what we can and cannot invest in. Are there any particular areas where I should invest in now before starting that I may not be allowed to invest in after?

Most banks will make you sell everything, others won’t. Completely depends and tbh you probably don’t have enough money to make it matter

Don't invest in something now that you may have trouble selling later on. Assuming you have under 50k to play with, it's not worth the risk to either be forced to sell or forced to hold indefinitely.

Only if you're with your firm's brokers. Robinhood or any non approved broker you're forced to liquidate
yup - had to liquidate robinhood and now need to set up account with firm's preferred broker. process is annoying as fuck
