Unfortunately yes

Most BB/EB/MM are 2 year programs (Centerview the notable exception) but that has only become common in the last 5 years or so. Prior to that everyone did 3 years. So it's not that unusual at a smaller or regional firm if they still want you to do 3 years.
Think EVR is also three years if u want to stay on to be ASO
Can confirm, friend just said they offered him An3 the past year to get the aso. Maybe if you're a crazy top performer
If you commit to staying on as associate, EVR analyst program is only 2.5 years now. If you tell them you’re leaving after 3 years, no early promote - you just serve the 3 years as analyst.
No
Yep. There are still BBs / EBs running 3 year analyst programs, at least in London. Some of those with 2 year programs have introduced Assoc 0 year so essentially little difference in timing to VP promo.
I’ve only seen 3 year grad programmes for shitty local banks , where you are pushed across divisions
I think most do 2 years now, but you are offered a third year if you do not get the associate promote.
A lot more common now than say 10 years ago yeah
I’ve worked at 2 firms that had 3 year analyst programs. Quite common back even 5-10 years ago.
Nowadays people do 2 to 2.5 year analyst programs to retain talent rather than having people go to PE.
I think 2.5 years is more the norm now, become a 3rd year analyst after June 30, then become ASO at the new year.
Gugg still does 3 years too
Quite normal, have a few friends who were at places with 3rd yr analyst programs. A lot of groups now do 2 year programs which must be great
I think a good chunk of MM banks are still at 3-years
JPM is back to 3 in most groups
how many years for analysts at pjt and moelis?
Moelis is 3 years last i heard
Moelis is a 2 year program
