Is my manager lying to me?
Current first year analyst at a BB that started early in February 2023 and just went through my mid-year reviews recently. I think my mid-year review feedback was pretty solid and they mentioned that the team enjoys working with me, that I'm hard-working and eager to learn, and show an effort to try to help the team.
However, through in real life interactions, I feel like my manager doesn't like me that much and has a somewhat bad impression of me (presumably because they might suspect that I don't really have a strong interest in my role and am sometimes depressed).
Given this, do you guys think that my manager was bsing during the mid-year review and was withholding his actual opinions / impression of me or are mid-year review feedbacks generally pretty transparent given that it's a bit more formal than day to day feedback that I receive.
