Is PC laptops the best way to go?

Hey guys, I bought a MacBook pro earlier this year but realized I will probably need a windows laptop for financial internships with modeling and future jobs. Does anyone have a good recommendation or advice? Thanks!

Any budget constraints? I use a Dell XPS for work and its pretty good, got a deal on it otherwise I might have gone with Lenovo - seems to be really popular around here. But a deal with XPS and the placement of the FN/CTRL key on the ThinkPads swung me to Dell.

No real complaints, I use it for M&A analyst work. Would prefer if it had the standard USB and other ports vs. just lightening ports but that was the tradeoff for portability I knew I was going to make. Just surprised I haven't forgotten my dongle adapter yet!

If you're really in a financial bind, you can actually just install Windows onto your Mac. You'll need a good amount of space on your drive, though.

I went with the Lenovo T-Series (T470 but I think the current model is T490 or T495 or something). The X1 Carbon is great too if you want a sleeker design and better display. They both have the most typing friendly keyboards I've ever used and Excel is a breeze

Which financial firm would allow to BYOD? I have never seen that happen, unless you are some specialized contractor with one of those Indian groups.
Normally, if you work for the firm directly, they'll give you all the things you need. A laptop from the company will also have all the technical bits required to work remotely, like a VPN or other software. There are also security packages and other things on there.
