Is this role FO within a BB?

From what I've been told, the role I'm looking at is a function of 2 departments:

1) one is definitely a risk management role as I did some linkedin stalking
2) restructuring

is this a risk role (aka MO or BO) or is it part of front office? I thought for sure restructuring would be part of front office but I'm thinking this role might not be.

essentially the people told me it would be involved in looking at everything in the life of a loan from start to finish whether its a healthy or bad loan. I'm just wondering if this is a mixture of front office/back office or if restructuring can be bundled in with a risk department. is that common?

What exactly is the name of the role? Resctructuring (are you sure you don't meant structuring?) and risk are quite separate functions.

Don't get caught up on the fo/bo/mo distinctions. It's the experience that matters.

SmartmoneySounds like the BDPG from GS.. bank debt portfolio group fancy name, you get IBD training of 9 weeks in NYC but reality is that that is a back office job be very carefull choosing.

thanks smart money, i looked up the group and it looks like you're spot on (not with the bank though but similar group).

would anyone with experience in a group like this comment? is the restructuring work completely unrelated to the levfin group? is it 100% BO? what would the pay/lifestyle/exit opps be like?
