And maybe they judge you for spending your entire early 20's working and not having the time to really get out and experience the world in the same capacity that they can with their "inferior" jobs.

I think you are a massive pussy that has such low self esteem you need to boost your self worth by viewing someone as inferior because they do not work in IB which is incredibly pathetic for a grown ass man to do. Moreover, I question how boring you have to be to base your entire personality and value in this world on a job.

Eliminate judgmental thoughts and emotions. Stop comparing yourself to other people. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday. Remember that no one gives a fuck. You reap what you sow, if you’re going to think that way about other people expect to have that same reaction towards you. I doubt you’d want that, I know I wouldn’t. Simple life rule. I’ve had this problem as well. Progress will be incremental at first but then you’ll really notice a difference.

Don't do that, because I guarantee you aren't the top of your field and that there's something doing better than you who could also do the same to you.

Well you’re on this forum so you definitely aren’t alone. If anything, this place has made me start looking at peoples job/academic background in a different way. It’s pretty toxic, but I suppose that’s the mentality that leads people to interest in high finance. Fortunately, the people I know irl do a variety of different things and have modest lifestyles and I know the quality of their character. So I won’t ever go fully off the edge.
