J.P. Morgan Investment Banking Junior Analyst 2020

Does anyone know when the applications for junior analysts open this year? I heard last year they opened in mid-December and was wondering if they're sticking to that timeline.

For people already in the program, can you provide some insight into the kind of work you do and what recruiters are looking for in a junior analyst? Thanks!

Thanks for letting me know. Any reason why they're not hiring for the program this year? Also, is there any other way to break into ib at a bb firm that would represent equivalent experience to this?

Could be, but I definitely can’t say for certain. The former JA’s that I have met both within my group and a few others are all rockstars, but that’s still a small sample size.

A senior IB head did indirectly mention to us that discontinuing the JA program was likely the result of JPM altering its approach campus recruitment. The initial thought process behind the JA program was to feed students into IB from non-core schools and to simply add more diversity to the pool of new hires. Since recruiting through the traditional analyst program has come more in line with this approach (or so they say) it would make a bit of sense as to why they are discontinuing the program. But the truth is they are definitely missing out on the opportunity for some cheaper labor. Happy to give an update if I hear more, but this is all I have for now.
