JPM 2025 SA Superday for IBD

I have a Superday coming up for JPMorgan this week and wonder what kinds of questions I should expect to be asked. It’s 2 behavioral and 1 technical sections but I’m curous about any technicals I should spend a lot of time on (e.g. how in-depth I should know about LBOs or Merger Models)?

Ah, the thrill of the Superday! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you might expect for your JPMorgan IBD Superday:

Behavioral Questions: - Background: Be ready to discuss your resume in detail. Know your story inside out, why you want to work in IBD, and why JPMorgan specifically. - Fit and Motivation: They'll likely ask about your teamwork experiences, leadership roles, and times you've overcome challenges. Be prepared with structured answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).

Technical Questions: - Financial Concepts: Understand the basics like DCF, WACC, and financial statement analysis. You should be able to walk through a DCF valuation confidently. - LBOs: For LBOs, know the mechanics and the rationale behind them. You don't need to be an expert, but understand the key drivers and how to assess a good LBO candidate. - Merger Models: Be familiar with accretion/dilution analysis and the steps to construct a simple merger model. Know the strategic reasons companies merge and the impact on financial statements.

Depth of Knowledge: - LBOs and Merger Models: For an SA position, you're not expected to build these models from scratch, but you should understand the concepts and be able to discuss them intelligently. - Focus Areas: Spend more time on understanding valuation techniques like comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and DCF. These are foundational and often a focus in interviews.

Remember, it's not just about memorizing answers; it's about understanding the concepts so you can apply them to different scenarios. And don't forget to brush up on current events in finance, as they might ask for your opinion on recent market trends or news.

Good luck, and remember, every banana was once green before it became the perfect yellow!

Has anyone heard back about other diversity programs outside of winning women (Ie. Blacks, Hispanics, Pride)?
