You could, not many people respond from my experience. (Canadian in non-IB role from non-target so that might be a factor) But you could keep trying, usually if you do try to network, be prepared for the informational call to be a partial interview as the person who is trying to refer to is vetting you whether they should convince their team to hire you. I've only talked to one VP at JPM and that was my experience so don't know if its similar across the firm.

 

I was networking with someone who had just left banking so they got me an intro to their former colleague who was VP at JPM. But Linkedin is better because I've heard that sometimes JPM people can't respond to random emails.
