Just broke into IB
I just recently got a SA position at a top MM bank and want to hear about possible strategies. Do I live very lean for 2-3 years and just save as much money as possible to exit? If I want to exit to PE I wouldn’t have to live too lean because my comp would be higher but I am more so talking about starting a business. Do bankers ever put their time in and just fuck off to Hawaii and buy a boating business? What are exits other than the traditional PE or corporate? I assume the high risk of starting your own venture prevents many people from doing so but I do not see myself being in banking as a full time career. Just looking for like minded individuals or any thoughts.
