Keep running into interviewers of failed interviews in common places

I'm currently in a Big4 firm and have been actively interviewing for IB over the past couple months and have had 3 interviews, but no luck...

I work in the same downtown area as the places I've interviewed and I keep running into the bankers who've interviewed me. I've interviewed decently but it's always kind of awkward, we both just say hi and keep moving on.

I'm wondering what's the appropriate etiquette? Can I just casually chat them up about their weekend, etc. I'm not sure on proper etiquette, cuz I probably wouldn't want someone I interviewed but didn't hire come talk to me.

Curious if this has happened to anyone else?
