Hi I am a sophomore at University of Maryland's Smith School of Business which isn’t really a target school for investment banks in general. I major in Finance and Accounting and have a 3.57. As a sophomore I have been interviewing for internship positions for the upcoming summer and have gotten chances to interview with both big 4 accounting firms KPMG and Deloitte. Since accounting is still relatively different from finance. With accounting firms offering services in tax, audit, and consulting, would a summer internship with these companies as a sophomore help me when I apply for Ibanks in the future? Is the job experience that I get at these big 4 firms still looked well upon even though it’s not really related to finance? Please let me know of your thoughts and ideas upon this matter. If anyone can help me with some words of advice on my situation I would be seriously grateful. Thanks to everyone for all the help.
