Applied ~3 weeks after some applications for banks opened up, did I wait too long? Have networked but don't want to be out of contention for a first round

If you've networked you should reach out to your connections and let them know you've applied, this will (if they like you) lead to a referral / push to a first round. Just because you've talked to them doesn't mean they're checking everyday to see when you applied so you need to reach out to let them know. As for if its too late it really depends on the bank, some will leave up applications until its filled and some will close quick. In my experience I got the most interviews from firms where I applied the first week, but again, if you have good connections its still possible to be included in the process. Good Luck
