Lateraling Within Bank After SA

I am an incoming SA at a EB on the west coast and was wondering how difficult it would be to lateral into the NY office after my SA stint (assuming everything goes well and I am able to receive a return offer). I know that part of the industry group I am joining sits on the west coast and part sits in the NY HQ. I completely understand this is a very premature question but I’m genuinely curious what kind of opportunities I might have to lateral internally and what sort of things those of you that have pulled off a similar move recommend.
