Lazard Houston Deal Flow and MM vs Freres
I noticed some older posts on here kinda shitting on Lazard's Houston office due to their deal flow, but I was hoping to get more information on them. Freres and MM work in the same office and I was wondering, is there any carryover in the deals between the teams? Does MM work on more midstream or different subverticals than Freres? Do they both/neither of them work on restructuring deals? Anything would be appreciated - thanks!

Right, I had just heard that in Houston there was some overlap between MM and Freres. Was also hoping for breakdown of M&A vs Rx between the two groups
Anecdotally, I know Lazard MM in Houston strays beyond O&G and covers Industrials to a large extent as well. I don't think there is a lot of carryover between the teams but there is certainly some. Not sure about the RX piece.
Oh good to know - thanks!
going off that, would you know if they specialize in a subvertical of industrials such as industrial waste cleanup or something else that plays off of the energy practice?
Do not know about MM vs. Freres but can confirm, from an intern, that the office does do restructuring work.
Think most MM shops in Houston (LAZ incl) do most work with PE shops, so typical M&A. The main group sticks to O&G, which is M&A and RX.
