Lazard MD fired
Do we know what actually happened here or is everyone under some kind of NDA? Heard it had something to do with an intern.

These incidents are usually kept private and there might be a settlement / other type of agreement which includes confidentiality clauses for those involved
Looked it up. I could see that dude being a diddler.
Side note - what the fuck is it with these shitty little scruff goatees these guys are growing? Looks totally sloppy & unpolished, would not have expected from Co Head of restructuring at Laz. V disappointing.
It’s these guys who make it so the rest of us have to have such shitty firm social policies.
Right? It reminds me of when the USC coach got caught drinking in the locker room and then he comes out the next week at this big presser and is all like "This is unacceptable guys, from now on we're banning alcohol in the locker room". It's like uhhhh okay bro cool policy but like weren't you the only one who was fucking up to begin with? Is this not just a you thing?
Same shit in corporate world. Someone at the top abuses their power and then the peons below (who were the victims of such abusive behavior) have to abide by a new handbook of policies to make up for the people above's mistakes.
I doubt there’s any contractual obligation to keep it quiet other than if there is a settlement with the individual it involved. If it was a party involving a lot of employees from the company am sure circle of people who know is quite large. Already a big news story.
Agreed, that’s why it is surprising the whole story hasn’t been released yet. Figured a Gen Z tik toker would have blown the lid off of it by now.
I've had to sign NDAs when leaving before
Reid Snellenbarger co-head Restructuring out of Chicago
Rip. The lad literally got his new job in April.
Probably makes it easier to let him go. Lazard has no attachment and I bet HL doesn't want him back. I'm interested to see where you even go from here.
And he bought a $7M home recently too lol RIP. Married with multiple kids lmao what an idiot
Time for him to restructure his distressed life.
Supposedly the dude was touching all the analysts and grinding on them lol. Could have also been interns, no idea
Jesus Christ. I spent like 30 minutes last week arguing in a thread that Investment Bankers generally have above average intelligence. Only to get proven wrong by a grown ass man grinding on interns in front of his wife, in his brand new house. That is NOT what you call above average intelligence, we're morons lol.
U just realized? U been living under a rock clearly
Lmao you really think we’re that smart?
Dude...
Couldn’t happen to a better firm. Can’t stand most of the Lazard people I’ve met.
they certainly don’t have the reputation of hiring many women (rumors on here years ago about women getting special signing bonuses bc 0 wanted to work there) and this is not their first lawsuit for harassing women employees.
Fully agree, plenty of incidents in Europe too, and they are now trying to convince the public Lazard is a proper place to work...ffs
Lizard is such a weird firm
Bunch of snakes
Agree on snakes, hated the guy I interviewed with in their RX group. Some prick who went to Harvard law and then thought he was Jesus because he ended up as an associate in EB when the real talent had left for PE or HF years earlier
Lawyers turned bankers are the worst.
Not the ones who get an MBA or other finance training first. They’re full switchers.
But the ones who come direct from a law firm and think their “advisor experience” means they they’ll be a good banker . . consistently some of the worst people you can ever work with.
And Lazard is full of them.
im a lawyer turned banker. i'm not so bad tbh
i switched because it seemed absurd that bankers were being paid more than me to use meaningless buzzwords and do grade school math
that former history majors without a lick of finance/accounting experience get up to speed so quickly....says a lot about banking imo
Lots of news items about it:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12270819/Top-banker-Lazard-inv…;
Nobody cares about his family or job or nice house which is all that this article or any article has regurgitated
OP and others just want actual juicy details about the precise debauchery that took place which have been kept somewhat surprisingly under wraps
Truly sad to hear about situations like these. A similar event happened at a bank I interned with a few years ago. One of the most senior MDs grinded himself against a female first-year analyst all night. He sat down to next to her in a couch and touched her legs, held her against her will while grinding himself to her etc. This was at a party arranged by the Head of IB at his house. She was very drunk and not really in a position to resist. At the end of the night, a VP noticed it and totally went loose on the MD, screaming at him and asking him WTF he was doing. My internship ended soon after so haven't heard what happened, but the MD still works there so I guess no one reported it.
I felt extremely disgusted and decided instantly that there was no way in hell I'd work for such a person.
Big shout out to that VP though. It’s easy when you’re not in a position of power to brush it off as “not your fight”. Proud of them for standing up to the MD for what’s right (…even if apparently the company didn’t do anything…)
Yeah definitely. The guy is an absolute legend and totally fearless in general. I've heard him lecturing CFOs and CEOs like children when they were late with materials etc.
VP was probably banging (or wanted to bang) that analyst chick and he got jealous.
